Getting Horse and Carriage Ready for your Event!
WHAT IS INVOLVED IN GETTING THE HORSE AND CARRIAGE READY?
Many customers will contact Marriage Carriage and More, LLC for their fairytale wedding and say they only want the carriage for 15 to 30 minutes and try talking the price down. Our fees are very inexpensive comparied to other area carriage companies.
Ladies and Gentlemen your wedding is much more than a Private Ride. Here is what the non-horseman doesn’t realize. It takes at the very least 3 to 4 hours of preparation to get the horse and carriage together and about the same amount of time to get them home after the event.
This is what is involved for the “WOW” presentation:
- Our carriage horse is bathed and groomed and her/his hooves are polished.
- Her/his harness is cleaned and polished.
- The carriage is cleaned and decorated with ribbon and silk flower accents
to match the event's theme colors.
- If the wedding is in the Historic Downtown of Fredericksburg, than we load
the horse in the horse trailer and head down to the warehouse where we
keep the carriages.
- Then we need to hitch up the horses.
- The coachmen and footmen need to get dressed in their Tuxedo.
- If the wedding is outside of the Historic Downtown of Fredericksburg, than we
have to go pick up the carriage as well. This requires driving and parking a
53 foot horse van and trailer.
So as you can imagine this takes more than one person, a great amount of time, effort and fuel.
