Booking and Schedules
Olde Towne Carriages requires all reservations are pre-booked online. If we are out on the street doing pre-booked rides we will except walk-ups, but we no longer sit at the carriage stand waiting for walk ups. We have seasonal carriage tours and private rides. We also do specialty rides and experiences.
Our basic schedule:
Best of Fredericksburg Tours - March through June and September through November running during the day on Friday, Saturday & Sundays.
Witches, Ghost, Murder and Mayhem Tours - September through November running during the evenings, scheduled days vary.
Private Carriage Rides - March through November (with exception of October), running during the evenings, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Holiday Private Carriage Rides - December, we have several types of Holiday Rides, all of them are private.
Holiday Evergreen Ride (daytime - white elegant carriage, accommodates 4 seats),
Holiday Elegance Private Carriage (evening - white elegant carriage, accommodates 4 seats), Traditional Holiday Wagonette Ride (evening - wagonette carriage accommodates 6 seats),
White Lights of Lower Caroline (evening - wagonette carriage, accommodates 6 seats)

Things you need to know before you purchase tickets:
- Tickets are sold individually since this is a group/public tour, that means you need a ticket per individual. We do offer discounts for first responders, military personnel and senior citizens.
- Adults are all individuals over the age of 16, and children are individuals over the age of 5, and lap children are 4 and under, they are free, but families are limited to 2 lap children.
- Our wagonette carriage, which accommodates up to six people, is used for all group/public tours. We ensure carriages are never overloaded.
- If you’d like to turn a group/public ride into a private one, you can purchase additional children’s tickets to reserve the entire carriage.
- Please note that all rides are non-refundable unless there’s a threat of heavy rain, thunderstorms, or high humidity. In such cases, we’ll happily reschedule your ride or provide a rain check for a later date.
- There is a weight limit: if you weigh over 275 lbs, we kindly ask that you purchase two tickets, as this is a shared ride with others outside your party.
- If you’re unable to get into the carriage without assistance, this may not be the best option for you.
- The City of Fredericksburg charges admission fees, which will be added to the ticket price.
- During the summer, we recommend wearing sunglasses and bringing water to stay comfortable.
- If you are bringing little ones on the carriage, please remember this is a 45 min ride and they must be able to sit still for that amount of time. We do not have storage for strollers on the carriage. We are fine with bringing some small toys to keep children busy. Drinks for children are fine if they are in a bottle or a cup with top on it. Just be aware using straws are not safe as sometimes the horse may jerk the carriage when they step forward.
- We do not allow food or drinks on the carriage other than bottled water, for adults!
- There is NO SMOKING ON THE CARRIAGES!
- We do not allow service dogs on booked out carriages due to safety reasons, there is no room on the wagonette when it is full, and unless the dog is small it would be very hard to sit on the seat. If you insist on bringing a dog you will need to purchase a ticket for the dog (i.e. one children's ticket for small dogs and two children's tickets for large dog)
- Customer's should check the weather before heading to carriage rides, we will call customers if it is not safe to come out to provide services.
- All reservations are non-refundable, unless we cancel the ride due to weather. If cancellation was due to weather we do offer to reschedule or provide a rain check.
- We will try to do a same day reschedule if possible.
Private Evening Rides
Things you need to know before you purchase tickets:
- Tickets are sold by the Carriage, so you purchase just one ticket. We sell them as carriages for two individuals, carriage for three individuals, and carriage for four individuals. We do have discounts for first responders, military personnel and senior citizens.
- Our elegant white carriage, can accommodates up to four adults and two lap children. Lap children are children under the age of 5 years. Please be aware there really are no sides to the carriage so lap children must be well behaved.
- Customers can request special pick ups for hotels or restaurants in the 40 historical blocks of Fredericksburg City limits.
- Please note that all rides are non-refundable unless there’s a threat of heavy rain, thunderstorms, or high humidity. In such cases, we’ll happily reschedule your ride or provide a rain check for a later date.
